Default Evolution Trainer Power System

I'm currently working on finishing up a Great Planes PT-40 and am contemplating putting an Evolution Trainer Power System engine on it. Just curious who has any experience with it and what they thought of it. Seems like a reasonable deal for an engine (with ball bearings), prop, and spinner.

Thanks in advance!

The engine is pretty good, but a bit heavier than the evo 46. The 3 blade prop is almost flat. I'm running a 11x6 2 blade on my evo trainer engine, and it moves along pretty good. Over all not a bad engine but I would get a 46.

evo 46 = Engine (Only) Weight: 13.76 oz

evo 45 trainer = Engine (Only) Weight: 16.32 oz

I have both engines on my Mustang and Alpha. it's good for what it is and performs well for the price.

The Evolution TPS ships with a 10x4 3-bladed prop. It's not a bad set up for training, but simply replacing it with a higher-pitched prop can make a huge difference in flight performance. A 2-blade spinner and an 11x5 prop might be a good upgrade.

On my Big Stick 40, I use a 10 x 6, and it is great. Evolution engines are really dependable. I have 4: 2 .46's, 1 .61 and 1 TPS. They all run great.
