Default Trainer cable?

I have the square six pin style training cable connector on my transmitter. At the field where I flew last weekend, only a couple of guys had a cable that would go from the round connector to the new micro connector like mine. The one that my instructor has is round to round. I didn't get to fly this weekend because the guys with the cord I need were not there. Anyhow, I am going to buy a cable so I have it next time...do I need to get the round to square trainer cable or is there an adaptor available to go on the round to round cables?

I really wish I had ordered it after last weekend...I was waiting all week to go fly and now I can't. It's tempting to go fly out in a field by the house, but I'd better not. I haven't taken off and landed yet other than in the sim.

You'll want the square to round cable. I bought my own buddy box while I was training so I was never left out in the cold. You might consider just ordering the square to square and your own buddy box.

Any "adaptor" would cost within a few cents of a complete cable. Connectors are the larger portion of the cost of manufacture. YOU know that from your job. You also know that EVERY time you introduce another connector to a system you also introduce another possible failure point.

Good points Bruce...I wish there was a hobby shop close to me. I just placed an order last night from Tower for a ESV, Futaba cables for the ESV, and a power panel for my field box I built...now I need the trainer cable...there is a hobby shop in Mobile where bought my fuel. It's a good drive, but I may go by after work one day this week and pick up a cable.

You could call Tower first thing in the morning with your order number and attempt to add the cable to the order. Worth a free call to try?
From Tower site:
"Dial 800-637-6050 toll-free for questions or assistance with your order"
