Hi Guys,

im looking to buy an rc plane, i want something electric and at first RTF. if i enjoy it then ill want something abit more hands on etc.

im from the uk and dont really want to spend anymore than £100 on everything. id like to purchase from the uk so i dont have to pay any import tax.

can someone explain what the two different models are? and what the more expensive versions are which say inc tx (package deals).

The less expensive model is an unpowered glider designed for slope soaring. It would be rather dissappointing if one were to try to fly it out at the local football field. It is designed to be thrown from the top of a hill while the pilot works with wind currents and thermals to maintain or even gain altitude without the benefit of a motor.

This kind of flying is quite popular in areas suited for it.

The only plane near your price range I noticed at that website which was close to what you're looking for was the Aerobird Extreme:

I've seen these fly, it is an impressive RC plane despite the unconvential design.

Parkzone makes some really great RTF airplanes. Their Slo-V is a great beginner's airplane. It can actually be flown indoors in a large gymnasium when wind and rain won't cooperate with outdoor flying.

Another very good first electric aircraft would be the wing dragon:

It's pretty close to your ideal price range as well, with everything you need delivered to your door for L110

The Hobbyzone Super Cub RTF airplane package is another very good solid value for a nice starter electric airplane. I didn't see the Super Cub listed at the e-tailer you provided the link to, however.

The Hobbyzone Super Cub actually comes with an instructional video right in the box to help you get started with final assembly and flying.

I learned on the hobby-zone super-cub. Thats what I recommend. If you and your cousin want to fly at the same time ,you just need to make sure your receivers are o0n different channels.

Hobbyzone offers about 6 different channels for the Super Cub RTF, as zoott mentioned. Just make sure you purchase two different frequencies and you'll be good to go. If you buy from a local hobby dealer, there will be a sticker with the plane's channel on the outside of the box. If you order online, just request two different channels. If you order at two different times online, whoever purchases his plane last just has to request any frequency other than the first.
