Default home remedy?

does anyone have a home made remedy for removing monokote adhesive that has gotten on top of already ironed on covering. also i read in other threads about using windex to layer monokote. or what do most of you guys do to make better applications for layering your covering.

In answer to your first question, try a little bit of acetone on a rag.

FWIW I recently picked up a bottle of pure acetone at Walgreen's. It's the main ingredient in nail polish remover. The pure acetone doesn't have the 'nail nutrient' stuff in it and it's a bit cheaper. It's in with the nail polish remover.

Bskin,
You only use the Windex method when you are applying covering over covering. If you are applying the covering to wood or the structure of the plane you will need to use the heat/shrink method.

Ken, does the windex activate the adhesive in the monokote?

I wanted to do some graphics on my Tiger 60 not the boring single color with stripes, but I was afraid that if
I Iron it down wrong it's a wasted job.

Yes, the ammonia in the windex activates the adhesives in the monokote. After the graphic is set in place and the windex is completely dry (12-24 hours) go around the edge of the graphic with a trim iron to seal down the edges. Don't apply heat to any other part of the second coat of monokote or you will wind up with bubbles in it.

I use a heat gun along with some of that other stuff and just peel it right off.
