I have uploaded some pics of my finished project. This was my first R/C plane and kit, and I am completely satisfied and surprised at the results of my craftsmanship.
I know its a very basic cover design, but I did'nt want to do a complex design on my first plane, but overall I am surprised at how the monokote turned out. Wasn't hard to work with and only had a few stubborn wrinkles to work with, as well as some small holes (patched them up easily).
As you can see in the pictures, I did a tail-dragger conversion and substituted the stock muffler with a custom muffler.
The engine i installed is a TT .46 Pro
I want to thank RCKen (for his detailed LT-40 Build Thread), Somegeek (for his LT-40 Build Thread as well, espicially the tail-dragger conversion), Bkdavy (for his general help and guidance, aslo is my trainer for my maiden flight), and all the members here at RCU for answering my few questions I had.
All i can do now is to await its maiden flight...

Very nice work for your first time. I think your covering scheme turned out very good. I also converted mine to a tail dragger, you`ll enjoy it very much.
You might as well get your low wing started, give you something to work on , on the bad weather days. lol The 4 Star 40 is a fun build. hint , hint.

Wow, what a good looking LT-40. Give yourself a good pat on the back, good job. But as ChuckW said, building is addictive. Don't fight it, just give in and start looking for that next kit!!!! Just in case you have any doubts Great Planes just announced last weekend that the are re-releasing 5 of their all time best airplane kits that have EVER been made.

Of these I would recommend building an Ultra Sport. But I will warn you, once you build and fly one you will be hooked for life. IMHO this is the best flying airplane ever designed. Just some food for thought

Thanks for the comments, and building it was fun. I learned alot from the mistakes I made and am already thinking about building my second plane real soon (but will not fly it till I have mastered the LT-40).
I was thinking about a low wing plane, and from the replies it seems to be the best way to go from a high-wing trainer. At first I was thinking about the 4* 40/60 and the Goldberg Tiger 60, but after looking at the links RCKen gave, I am starting to lean more towards the Ultra Sport 60.
But as I have said before, I am pleased with the covering job (no wife to please as I dont have one, *just graduating High School
).
At least now I have a hobby to do when I am in the Corps and during all of those boring days....

Hmmm, USMC and boring days, that's 2 terms that won't go together for a while. Be careful out there.[>:]
