Prop coming loose

OK, I just took up your very polite request to Google "quenching" and "quench" and "to quench" and they all verify MY description of the process.
Would you care to provide a documented source that says it has anything to do with "distorting" a part in any way? A threaded part in particular since that is what we are discussing.
And please grow up and stop swearing. This is a family oriented site.

Excuse me but I work for an airline and we know that it is not only illegal but often unsafe to improvise. Too many people have died because of people with attitudes like yours. Do the world a favor and never work on real airplane or equipment that goes on them.
It's obviously unfruitful to discuss this further with you. Have a good day.

What is the torque value for the 2 c engine?
Also yes I agree that it's very rare for me to use LOC/tight on anything.
Ever see those nuts that have the 4 punch marks on one side?
I don't see them much anymore but those and the nut with the nylon collar are accepted by FAA as long as you have 5 threads exposed after the proper torque.

Were speaking of a model airplain here and not a DC-8
WOW,
I'll leave.
This forum never changed.
All you people are just full of hate and just get thrilled out of flaming others.
Many people work for the airlines.
Whats your job?
Cleaning bathrooms?
Do yourself a favor and read a Bible

ASTM A449-00 - Quenched and Tempered Steel Bolts and Studs
"Quenched" as in to making the nut deformed so as to maintain a stronger grip on a threaded bolt.
This will also increase the torque to approximately 10 foot pounds.
I never booked marked it and don't remember what key words I used.
So who says hell more then a priest?
It's also in the bible.
I didn't use no other cuss words.
I'm unsubbing from this hate list.
However you and a coupe of others seem OK to me. One admitted what he is.
I'l keep trying and when I find it i'll send you the info

Hey Bruce...Do they still have different torque values for different size bolts and studs, and different torque values for differen't materials? or have they gone to a one torque value fits all? Things change I guess.... Where can I find the torque for a 4c motor?

Make sure that you are not overfilling the engine when you fuel it. Before I have had problems when I forget to disconnect the muffler tube when I start fueling...this causes it to hydrolock until you get the fuel out.
If this happens, open the throttle and flip the airplane upside down. Some of the excess fuel will pour out of the muffler, the rest will come out of the carb when you turn the prop slowly.
