Default battery questions???

ok so say i bought this airplane http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXGFK0&P=7 the battery it comes with is 900mAH. So if i bought a battery of the same voltage but it had higher mAH the airplane would run for longer? i had thought this was a good idea until i realized that if you have a higher mAH you also have a higher charge time right?? so basically im asking if it is a good idea to put bigger batteries of the same voltage into that given airplane as well as asking if i did there wouldnt be much of a point becuase i would still have to charge the bigger battery longer right??

Thanks

I use a 1400 MA battery with a 969 brain charger and it takes about 10 min. to charge. The more channels you use and if you have digatal servos the more battery you use when you fly. I usally go 5 flights of 10 min. each before I charge mine. If you have the standard charger that you get with a radio then you would charge eather one overnite and they would be fine.

Hello!!!!
You are right about bigger mAH will give you longer flights
You will need longer charging time if you use the same charger, you can buy a better charger like this

http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...&I=LXEYD4&P=ML

It can charge different mAH batteries in the same charging time

so if a bigger battery fits in it and you have a good charger then go ahead, either way get a better charger then the stock one becuase it will charge stock battery in shorter time anyway?

Hello!!!!
Yes, you are right.
As an advice, get a good charger, it is not an expense it is an investment.
Some of them can accept different types of batteries, have quick charge options, charging and discharging routines, etc.
It is a must have if you are planning to stay in this hobby.

One thing to be aware of is that the Venture battery is described as having "a unique Hobbico connector." The tech notes at Tower Hobbies seem to indicate that this is a non-standard connector that is not available seperately. You will most likely need to modify the battery connection on the plane's electronic speed controller to a standard type if you want to try larger battery packs. You may not be able to find connectors to convert third party batteries.

Then again, Hobbico might just be blowing smoke and if you look around you may find the connectors somewhere.

Good luck and good shopping!
