I have wasted several large piesces of monokote trying to cover my tail. but it shrivles and doesn't stick. i've tried it with the clear film up and down. also with different temperatures. can someone give me a hand. this will be my 3rd time covering.
Thanks, dave trimmer.

Ok it has been 15 years since actually built a model, so take what I say with a grain of salt. Having said that you mentioned putting the clear film up (and down). I might be wrong but I believe you are supposed to peel that clear film off of the colored material. The surface between the colored film and the clear film is what you place in contact with the wood (etc). This is the side with the adhesive.
Hope I am right, and this helps.

Just in case you lost your copy. Sounds like you left the protective clear layer on.[:@]

Sounds as though you are using Monocoat brand film since the backing material is clear plastic instead of the paper product used with Ultracoat.
This is an extra benny for you. Save the larger pieces of the clear backing material for a plan protector when building over plans it works wonderfully well in this application and interestingly enought Tower sells dedicated rolls of the stuff for the purposes but you get it for free.
