I use the Futaba Trainer box with the square plug, it's sapose to work with all Futaba 6X radio's, I had mine for a few years now. Tower has them for $40.00 but look like there on back order at Tower. Check with you local hobby shop, maybe they have them in stock or see if there are som for sale her on RCU.

I don't know about the 2.4 deal but on my Slightly older 6 channel Futaba I just use an old Futaba conquest transmitter and I took the battery out.
With Futaba my understanding is the buddy box is nothing more than a set of gimbals and trims.

http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...I=LXEFJ4**&P=7 Worked for me to get a functioning spare radio, servos, battery and misc. The cord with 2 square ends mated it with 9C nicely.

One point Futaba does make in the manual is NOT to use any radio with a round DIN connector as a buddy box for the 2.4 radio. they say it may cause malfunctions.

I have one of these radio's spare, I would be happy to sell it to you if you are interested. Make me an offer, I will also consider selling the battery with it if you are interested.
