I guess that is gusting at 7-8 MPH max??? That is a prety high wind speed for a slow flier like it. I guess if you had the money you could place a gyro onboard to stabilize it....

I actually don't fly at all. I am interested in it because it seems like a nice trainer... My only experence with aerial RC is with my not so great Blade CX. Is it a good trainer (as my LHS has it for $100 complete[8D]0.

So I guess 4-7 MPH is 4-7: Wind felt on face, leaves rustle, ordinary vane moved by wind. I guess with experence you could fly in higher winds or is that asking for trouble with a slow flier (is a higher speed plane better).

I love the slow speed that I have seen in the vids and also the X port means that you can add extra weight (ie. cammera...). $100 is a very fair price in my eyes especially with the parts being so cheap (and probabaly easy to come by). What plane do you fly (I guess it is a slow flier also???) Mini T

I love the ParkZone Stryker (brushless and lipo's, yeah, scare your pants off fast
). I guess the slow flyer is a better option than a scary fast plane (plus it takes less space to fly[8D]). What is your slowest model and your scare the pants off you fast models (electric wins in that category
). Mini T

my friend has a slo V... he took it out to the field one day. usually he flys it around inside the hangar at work. lots of space and a great place to fly. but he brought it out to the field one day. i was not what i would call a windy day. that thing was all over the place. seems that with only a little wind, it would get thrown all over the place. it was funny to watch, but didn't look like much fun to fly.
if you are looking for a trainer, step up and spend a little more and get one like the H-9 alpha .40 or something in that range... you will thank yourself later. plus the experience of running and maintaining a glow powered engine will help you with other planes down the line as well.

Is a faster electric a good option or is nitro better. I have zippo flying experence so I would think an electric is safer, quiet... They all have their ups and downs, are any of the ParkZone line any good (firebird freedom, super cub (my favorite)) Just currious, Mini T

I own 3 slo-v's they are a good trainer. They get pushed around in the wind. The super Cub is a good trainer aswell but can reach 30 mph. If you want slow I would go with the slo-v[8D]
