Gee, lemme see....I flew on New Years Day this year, and it got all the way down to 76 degrees farenheit. Thought I was gonna freeze to death.

You won't get icing as long as you use glow fuel. the alcohol is a natural de-icer. We crank up the woodstove in the clubhouse and fly all winter. Have to put foam insulation around the lipos so their own heat will keep them warm, otherwise you only get about 5 mins. un time, does.t matter what the capacity.Nothing like a sunny day with no wind, about the freezing point and a 6 pack. Makes a great days flying.

Wild Foamy-
Getting back to your original question, you should not have a problem with carb icing on a glow engine. Glow engines can be difficult to start at very low temps, say 10F (about -10C). Given England's climate, you should not have a problem at any temp you may encounter. I generally don't like to fly if the temp is much below 10F, just because fingers tend to get cold fast.
When I fly in the winter, I usually wear a pair of thin wool gloves, with mittens over them. For the brief time I am actually flying, I take off the mittens. A trick to use to warm up the engine for starting is to hold it behind the exhaust of a running car. Just make sure you don't cause your covering to come off.

Ken,
Can I live with you from October to April? I don't eat much but make sure you have plenty of Budweiser and Jack. I love to fly when it's so cold it hits 90 degrees.
