What are those things called that Slip over the dowel ends and then flare out to help prevent the rubber bands from slipping off, and wher can I buy them. Does anyone have a name brand?

A simplier and cheaper way to keep the bands from coming off the dowels is to simply cross the last two rubber bands as you put them on. With the outer rubber bands crossing over each other there is no way for the other bands to slip off.

Yep, cross them. Go from left rear to right front and from right rear to left front for the last pair of rubber bands. This is the way people have done it for years.

Cross the last band on each side. Wipe any oil off the dowels before installing the bands. NEVER reuse rubber bands from day to day.
