Some trainers that come ready to fly have 3 bladed props. don't worry about that its no big deal. get the LT 40 if you can or any other high wing trainer, most are just fine really. IT IS JUST A FACT that trainers get beat up. you will be able to do plenty of hot dogging and aerobatics with a trainer. few people really master a trainer. The 4 stars are great SECOND planes I love mine. If you want to go a little cheap on the first plane check out the SPAD forum here then check out
SPADTOTHEBONE.COM
An option is spend a little more on motor and radio and build a DEBONAIR its not so pretty but its tough and the darn things fly just fine. you can fix em cheap and quick if (WHEN) needed. then the motor and radio can be put into a 4 star40 later no problem
IF I was stuck with the teach myself route I would go spad for $ and time savings. faster build very cheap and quik fixin works for me

you can put wheel pants on any plane but you'll cus 'em on a trainer on grass so save that for later.
WHERE IN ARKANSAS? I live in Ozark close to Springfield, Mo., your are welcome to come to our field for some trainer time on my LT 40 or your plane doesn't matter.
ON the "I hope I never crash" issue well I hope I win the lottery!!

Ya they live in Cherroky village (mind the spelling) and they have a little club of like 50 people total i think. Here in CA we have like 175 so its alot different. I think springfild is like 3 hours cuz ive flown in to the airport out there.

Nexstar and Spacewalker are great planes that fly nice and smooth. Nexstar is a trainer. The Spacewalker is a wise choice for 2nd plane. Now, my 2nd plane will be the Dolphin. But, just because I didn't take my own advice doesn't mean you shouldn't. If your advanced enough or are intrested in 3D I suggest Pizzazz, Twist, Twist 150, or the Extra 300.
