I am new to rc aircraft i have a seagull arising star and an irvine 46 engine, which prop is best for this setup?

11x5 or 11x6 Master Airscrew. Will keep the plane slower and these props are less expensive so you can keep a few spares... you will need them.

I agree on the Master Airscrew props. Not as efficient as the APC's but last much longer because they don't damage as easily from minor ground contact. Better in a training environment IMO.

Once you have been flying enough you can tell the difference, try several different brands and sizes (around those recommended) of props. Different airplanes and engines do better on different props. The ones which don't work as well on your airplane now will probably be the best on another airplane/engine.

I'd recommend the [link=http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXGAK9&P=ML]Hobbico 11 X 5 NextStar Propellers[/link] seem to work great on .46 engines on trainers, and they are only $1.99 each at Tower. They are also very rugged.

I THINK YOU WILL LIKE THE PERFORMANCE OF A 11X 5 MAS PROP. GIVES FAIR POWER HOOKUP WITH GOOD BRAKES, ON FINNAL APPROCHE! WILL ALSO SLOW YOU NICE IN A DIVE! IF YOU BACK OFF THE THROTTLE.[&o]I WISH I COULD SPELLL BETER.

We're suggesting something like this or a slightly different pitch.
