Hey guys,
My name is Josh and i am pretty new to RC Flight... My neighbor got me interested and has be instructing me on some of his planes on a buddy radio... I have taken off and made a few landings... So far landings have been my major nemisis. I have managed to tear the landing gear off my buddies plane twice and tore up one wing tip... But he keeps saying its all been pretty minor and all repairable!!! So I am buying my first plane and got five flights on it yesterday at Thunderbird Field in Ft. Worth... I have only flown it on the Buddy Box but my instructor says that soloing is not far off!!! Here are some pics of my plane and the plane I had been flying...
Here is the plane I had been flying... Dragonlady...

and my new to me plane... ThunderTiger FunFlight Mustang...

Well those aren't your basic trainers but if your instructer is willing with those its all good(I asume one of them is his anyway).
Of course there is no rule saying you have to learn on a trainer, many learn on what is considered a "second plane'' which is basically what your flying now. The end result is the same! FUN
Just don't forget to teach someone yourself in a year or two!
Duh, I almost forgot, WELCOME TO THE HOBBY!

Josh, I think I saw you there last Sunday, were you there? I was there but still pretty sick and only flew once helping Randy set up the buddy box for a guy thats just learning.
His new plane had a bad servo so I let him take my LT 40 up. ( it was the blue and white one )
Anyway, welcome

Re: Torn up Wing Tips....
Put in Wing Tip Skids...
These cheap little plastic devices will save your plane from asphalt/grass "rash"... It's worth doing!
Re: Gear...
Consider larger wheels to make it easier to land on grass.
