Default RE: Get out of here Dog!!!

there is a guy who has been coming out to the field with a couple of foam planes, trying to learn, unsuccessfully i might add. anyway everytime he comes he brings some small yip dog, that doesn't yip a lot fortunately, well yesterday he came out and the club safety officer was there for the first time in a while and he promptly did away with that dog, he was actually a bit rude to this guy and i felt bad for the guy, but his dog does run out on the runway to sniff planes (couldn't really hurt a plane as it probably doesn't even weigh a pound!) as well as running from person to person jumping in their laps randomly, which i do not care for! but i really didn't pay the dog any mind because i knew that the man knew what danger the dog was in each time it went around a plane, and i also knew that it really couldn't hurt my plane so i didn't worry about it.

But i do not believe that dogs should be allowed to be at a flying field, there is a place to spend time with your dog, at your home or at a park, not at a model airstrip! sorry if my opinions on this matter offend anyone, as i said they are just my opinions..

The next big Dog Show they have in New York City I'm going to bring my rc airplane there and start it up.

Then when the dogs are walking around in a circle I'm going to chase them with my airplane. And when the judge tells me I can't chase the dogs around like that, they're being judged, I'll tell him "Why Not? Your dogs chase my airplane when I'm trying to take off!"

If they tell me to leave then No Dogs Allowed at flying fields either!

I like dogs better than most people I meet. Now that I think about it I like dogs better than most club members I meet.
But did a dog ever show you how to pull off a harrier landing? Help you carry the plane to the line? Go in his flight box and give you that spare glow plug you didn't have so you could then fly that day?
Dogs are great if you like your shoes chewed, bite fines from animal control, and stepping around his steamy fertilizer left in the backyard. Club members usually don't have fleas either. A club shouldn't have unruly dogs, or children as serious injury can happen in the blink of an eye. Some fields don't have much protection between parked cars and the runway...I bring my kids to some other activity while I fly, for everyone's sake. Just my opinion. In today's unbalanced society, if a child gets injured unattended, who knows what charges the parents could face for neglect?

No none of those things, just plain love all the time with nothing in return but a little attention and and a place to live. Ya they chewed a few shoes and messed up the place a bit but so did my kids and now my grand kids but I still love them. Mine (dogs) keep me company while I work on planes and helicopters. I have a loving wife but she could care less about my hobby( still love her) But the dogs love to hear about what happened. About the fleas ( I'm sure my dogs don't) but wonder about some of the club members. As far as unruly dogs I've seen more unruly people at the field. This is just my opinion and what I have personally seen. To each their own. Remember DOG spelled backward is GOD. Weird Huh? Look at the photo of the dog in her backpack who's it hurting?
Mike

PS My dogs are helping me write this, they really would rather stay home than go to the field to many rules.

Too big for flying fields, and nothing chases this dog, ever.

IMHO, if you bring a child, dog, cat, guinea pig, chinchilla, or whatever YOU assume responsibility for the actions of all of them.

I have seen dogs at the field that didn't cause problems at all. We also have a gentleman that stops to spectate and leaves his dog in the truck till all planes are away then we give the dog some attention. I have on many occations asked spectators to keep their children away from the planes unless attended.

Children should have buddy boxes in their hands to keep them occupied!!!!!!
