My experience with a seller on Ebay

I don't normally recommend companies or individuals on Ebay but this is different. About 1-1/2 to 2 years ago I purchased a new Futaba 6exap from Twelve_o_clock_high and it went bad. I had posted the problem on this forum. The left stick would no longer operate the rudder. Was not able to solve the problem. I contacted the above person to see if he had another one. He had only low band, all of my receivers were high band. This was about 1 month ago. Yesterday I got a email from him stating that he had a high band and if I would send mine back he would give me a new one. If you need anything in the line of RC stuff--take a look at this person. He has well over 3,000 transactions. With a 99.6 feedback rate. If one of the moderators wants to remove this thread because it may be a little off topic, but maybe not because it does refer to RC equipment.

I hope the moderators leave it alone. It is refreshing to hear about someone who is honorable even when he really has no obligation to be so. I would buy from him if he had something I needed.

Yeah, I agree. My experience with Ebay was not so favorable though, so I stay away.
I got a bad rating from someone that lied about making payment to something I sold him as though it was my fault. It was an item that was new in the box, never opened, so there was no problem with the condition of the item. He just didn't want to pay for it. My mistake was that I sent it to him before I got the money. Bad bad. I ended involving an Ebay arbitrator to settle the issue, finally, after about a month and a half, I got paid...
I later found out that this character sold it to someone else almost immediately after I sold it to him. And he had the nerve to give me a bad rating. He kept claiming that he sent the money, but when I got the check from him, it was dated the same day as the post mark.

I could not believe that he even remembered that I needed a high band tx. I really liked that 6exap as it was easy to program and my grandchilden could use it.

There are honorable people on Ebay, that is what feedback is for.
I have 78 at 100% positive so I have had my share of transactions and none of them bad.
A short story,
I sold a new lipo battery to someone last fall. I was paid imediately and shipped it out the next day via priority mail. I didn't get insurance or delivery confirmation, my mistake.
After 2 weeks the buyer emailed me wanting to know where the battery was, I went to the post office and they where no help at all.
Without delivery confirmation I had no way of knowing or proving he got the battery so I reinbursed him his money.
Several weeks later he sent me an email, he finally got the battery and sent me the money back, that transaction made me feel better about people in general.

i purchase my first nitro trainer plane from a gentleman on ebay, a man named Dave, he is actually on this forum and we have made contact on here a few times.. anyway he is a great guy! i got the trainer a few days after purchasing and fedex had crushed the right wing panel! so i informed him and we both went as far as we could with fedex and never were reimbursed for the damages! i will never ship with fedex again due to the way they handled this situation, i talked to several people at fedex as did Dave! i was actually spoken to very rudely by one of the customer service representatives! i will never use fedex again, but i would happily buy anything from Dave any time! he stuck with me on it for about 2 months and i know he didn't have to but he was right there with me on it! i just repaired the wing and the plane definitely paid off as i learned a lot about flying with that plane!

If anyone is looking for a nice Futaba 6exap-new channel 60 take a look at this seller. This is the seller that this post was about. He has it listed for 69.00. It is on ebay. Hope someone can take advantage of this as it is a nice tx for the introduction to computer tx. at a reasonable price.

I rarely buy off ebay, maybe once a year but when I do, I make the effort with "ask the seller". If he doesn't know what he's talking about on an item he is selling , thats a sign right there. If I want to buy an item from someone who has know clue about it, I can go to Walmart or Hobbytown. but then again, Hobby town does not exist around here (anymore) So we have the LHS and they're not far behind.
