Hi, I'm looking for some plans to build a field box. I'm thinking something plain. I will make a new one to suit my needs once I've been into the hobby for a while and get a feeling for what I want. Thanks!!

Why don't you just go to your lhs and buy a precut one. All you have to do is put it together, as they only cost around 20 bucks.

There are plans for two (2) different field boxes on my web page. One is very simple and basically just a box shaped to carry a can of fuel and a few tiols. The second is a more complex design but is intended to carry everything that you might need on the flight line and nothing more. The idea is to leave the items that are used for field repairs in the car until they are needed but still have all the items necessary for a day of flying right at your fingertips.

Thanks guys! I enjoy building things, so I'd rather build my own. And besides I have all kinds of lumber kicking around, so it won't cost a cent. Nice web site by the way Lightfoot!

Ibought one and drew plans of it dwg format, for some further needs. I`m satisfied with it, although i had do make some little changes, as drilled some holes to be able fit a bigger plane on it and also added some screws for storing extra props on side of the box.
If you are interested let me know i`ll put on e-mail.

Crow, that would be great if you could forward me the plans. After searching around I found most people use fishing boxes, or huge wood ones. I'm kinda looking for something like the wood ones but just smaller. So having plans would be great so I can use it as a reference to make it the size I want! Thanks for the help!!

I saw a post offering a free plan for a great looking field box in "tips and techniques". You'll find it there......
