DX7 engine cutoff switch
#3
Did you set the mechanical linkage to allow it to bottom out and kill the engine before you started playing with the digital trims? I always set my throttle connections with 100% stop-to-stop mechanical throw before I start to play with the digital trims and sub-trims.
I use throttle-down and kill on two seperate switches on my Futaba 9-C. Don't have any experience with a DX-7 or Spektrum.
Just an outside chance - this is not a gasoiline engine is it? They need a seperate circuit to ground the spark and not just a low throtte kill.

I have a DX7 and its not hard to shut motor down. Just set up throttle to shut off when throttle trim is in the lowest setting. The DX7 will shut off the airplane motor when the range is too far also. Push the button in the back (with plane on ground) and walk away when you reach a distance too far for the radio it will shut the motor down. you can also put the fuel feed line out the side of the plane so you can pinch it off to shut the motor down manually.
