AMA website.
It has a listing of all the clubs in the US. DEFINITELY go to a local club and hook up with an instructor. It ain't as easy as it looks!

Find a nearby RC club that is known to give help to beginners. There they can check your plane for proper set up and and give you lots of help to get going.
