Good luck.

Not sure how you're not a "newbie" if you just got your first model. Must be obliging friends with loaners up to now?

Enjoy.

What kind of plane, radio, servos, engine, etc. did you settle on? The 1st plane is a big choice! It's like your 1st car: You WANT the Corvette, but you probably also know that you'd be dead inside a week[] Planes work the same way: Plane too "hot" = "impact disassembly syndrome"

read my post from last Sunday "Worst "First" Ever" ...... I'm not trying to scare you, but things can from GREAT to "CRAP!!!!!!!!!" alll the sudden.... and it was my VERY FIRST FLIGHT TOO!!!!! Embarassment BEYOND belief !!!!!!

Good luck!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I SINCERELY MEAN THAT !!!!!!!!!! Since you're not exactly a newbie, you've probably already got alot of the "basics down", but still, follow the tried and true rules: Find a good instructor with a buddy-box and HANG ON HIS EVERY WORD!!!!!!!! Then go home, download "FMS" flight simulator, do a websearch to find "EZ SIM" (or "FMS controller") with a controller box (it'll cost unde $25), get it and PRACTICE, PRACTICE, PRACTICE!!!!!!! You can't practice TOO MUCH It's the best $25 (for the controller; if you have a PC controller/gamepad with twin "sticks" on it, it'll work like a charm (that's what i'm currently using until my connect cables show up. Best money you'll spend in this sport (joke: the FMS program is free ) )!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm going back to the same field tomorrow. The guys were awesome enough to not only retrieve my plane, they're rebuilding it BETTER THAN BEFORE !!!!!!!!!! I'm like a kid on Christmas Eve !!!!!! I just hope I don't pull a "repeat" of last weekend's humiliation. Hopefully all the FMS sim time i've put in has paid off a little! We'll see !

Keep us posted !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
