Default Question about exhaust routing.

I'm just wondering, I was reading about a ( I belive) Hanger 9, P-51. The guy was putting a 4 stroke in it. It was an ARF of course, but acording to the writer, very scale. Only problem was that big ol' muffler sticking out the lower side of the plane. My question is this. Why couldn't the fella get a manifold pipe that swung the muffler around to the rear, route the muffler to the rear, possibly to the lower inside of the fuse, then take some of this flexable tubing that I've seen used on the end of mufflers to route exhaust, and run it up to a home made box like structure that has the 6 exhaust bent pipes (each side) out the side in the correct position on the side of the cowel. Why couldn't that work? Did I make myself clear on what I mean?
Thanks, Ken McCormack

Someone at the field happened to mention flexible exhaust lines today from a company called MACS.
I will be looking into this to route my muffler for my 4 stroke around and out the cowl in my bipe.
Here's a link to one - don't know if this helps.

pitts style mufflers are frowned on by my club for noise reasons, even though it may not be actually louder, it's perceived as being so.

A pitts muffler with some of those rubber deflectors/extensions is verry quiet. AND OUR PLANES ARE SUPOSED TO BE LOUD ANYWAYS!!! Yep I ride a motorcycle with straight pipes too and my Mustang sets off car alarms
