So you think you are showing your age do you young fellow? My favorite song is still " We're gonna hand out our washing on the Siegfried line"

Sorry off topic.....I find just a dry towel works for me.

You know, I vaguely remember that song. I think it was 1/2 a generation before me.

Anyone tried Methylated Spirits (I think in the U.S its called Denatured Alcohol) and water?

Windex smells like Metho and I know some old timers who just mix metho and water to clean windows.

Would the Methylated Spirits contain ammonia?

Cheap window cleaner that I juice up with alcohol. I don't cover with Mono and the stuff has no effect on Ultracote. When I used to use mono my trim always lifted off and I never new why until just A while back when it hit me. I'm slow but I do learn. I was just at the dollar store and stocked up on cleaner but I will be giving Kens window cleaner trick A try, sounds good to me.

I've used 409 for quite a while. No loose edges yet.

DENATURED ALCOHOL!!! Cleans fast, evaporates, leaves no residue. Not the Medical grade Isopropyl stuff, that has a percentage of water in it, that will leave behind streaks as does glass cleaners and 409. Get it from Wally-mert in the paint section.

I use good generic amonia/alcohol free window cleaner and add some Dawn dishwashing soap in it. Works great, planes are clean, shiny and the monokote has stayed on.
