I'm going to need a couple batteries soon. One for a EI for a gasser and the other for the receiver. I think I want a 6V for the EI and possible for the receiver also. My question is where is the cheapest place to get batteries? That are still good batteries.

www.radicalrc.com has always been good for me. I also just bought 2-cell lithium-nano-phosphate 1100 2-cell for DA 100 ignition. This came from Troy-built. http://www.troybuiltmodels.com/index.html. this 2-cell pack is 6.6 volts and runs the DA ignition fine without regulator.

I have had very good service from this store:
http://stores.ebay.com/All-Battery-C...sxQ3asstQQtZkm
Good product, very professional, and alot cheaper than LHS or Tower.
Good luck.

We have also purchased batteries from them. We are buying 6v 2500 mAh for about 8.00 or less from my previous post. Very quick service and good communication.

Definitely not the cheapest. But they use good cells and the packs are assembled very well.

The electric guys at my field are all getting batteries from Hobbycity.com - the Rhino lipo's. They have been standing up to extreme flying conditions and surviving crashes, and lasting through seasons.
Since I have upgraded to larger planes, I will be using all 7.2v lipos with a regulator tech-aero.net and will be getting the batteries from Hobbycity. There are tons of great reviews from this vendor, of course they are overseas and delivery time is less than local vendors, and service may take a little longer. Overall, seems to be very worth it.
For Nimh receiver batteries, it's hard to beat tower's Hydrimax batteries, especially when you add them to an existing order and get free shipping and Tower's great discounts. These have been absolutely fantastic in my smaller planes.

use reliable sources. I bought on eba^ ( not the company listed above) and crashed a brand new Butterfly on the fourth flight. I won't ever buy batteries on eba^ again[:'(]

I bought a bunch of those Zippy lipos from Hobbycity. They're great for the price, but you do get what you pay for. In the beginning, they work really well. However, after about 50 cycles, the batteries don't hold up capacity. I used to be able to drain to 4500 mah out of the 5000 mah pack. Now, the battery will only drain down to about 3500 mah. The rest of the amps gets below usable voltage for my 4 cell packs. I don't know how these compare to thunder power or maxamps, but these batteries don't last in the long run. I'm looking elsewhere to see if I can get similarly priced batteries and see how they perform. I can't afford the more expensive batteries so I'll have to keep looking.

I once heard a man say "only the rich can afford the in-expensive, because you have to replace it so often" Just my 2c

I use Zippy batteries from HobbyCity. They are holding up well so far, but only have about 3 flights on each pack so far. When I buy cheap LiPo batteries I aim for about 50% higher current rating than I need, since many of the cheap packs are rated higher than they can actually handle. I'm currently running Zippy 2100mAh 25C and 2200mAh 20C packs in my Stryker. My setup pulls only 26A max, but the packs are rated for 40-50A continuous, so they barely get warm. I also try to pull just 75%-80% of the total charge out of the packs to help prolong their life.

All is great when the packs are brand new. All the battery tests I've seen in the magazines are with brand new packs. I want to see how these packs stand up after 50-100 cycles. The ratings for these Zippy batteries are 5 stars on hobbycity. Of course they're 5 stars. People rate them after just a few flights. Even I gave them 5 stars. However, after 50+ cycles on my 4 cell 5000mah Zippy's, I went back gave the batteries only a 3 star rating. My 10 minute flights now only are 8 minute flights, because the voltage falls too low after a certain drain.

just that people are complaining about the zippy batteries and they are the really cheap ones. my club all uses rhinos, some guys have been using them for a lot of years, and no problems. withstand time, crashes, etc. rhinos have been recommended to me by quite a few people.
again no experience with the zippy batteries except for what they said above.
