Default RE: Engine for a stik 40

ORIGINAL: fly boy2

Here are some servo questions, 1. Do I need just standard ST47 JR servos that can be bought with a airpac , or do I need different servos, and 2. my debonair has one servo that controls both ailerons, the stik has dual ailerons, I was told to use a Y harness but won't that move both ailerons in the same direction, I have a JR sport if that helps, good thing I still have the manuel
Servo: The ST47 will work fine, but go with the ST47BB. The output shaft has an upper ball bearing where the standard has a plain bushing. The ball bearing will hold up over time while the bushing will wear and create slop over time.

If you transmitter has the capability for flapperons then you can plug each servo into separate receiver ports and use dual ailerons that way. Depending on your transmitter you may also have programmable differential. Otherwise just use a Y harness and you'll be fine.

Stick 40: doesn't the 40 plus have full span strip ailerons? I remember the older Swizzle Sticks coming out with a strip aileron option which I did build into a couple, but not the barndoor's cut into the wing like fly boy 2's picture shows. Just curious since I haven't built the newer Stick 40 plus, just the Stick 30 with the same tail as a 3-channel.
