Lots of folks it seems can only land when coming more or less straight at themselves despite the direction of the runway. At any rate a dead giveaway of the all to common problem of someone flying equipment way over their heads.

Worse than that, it could have killed someone. A hit to the head from something like and engine or a prop cut in the wrong place and it's all over.

Who in their right mind would stand directly in the path of an airplane especially one that's that close and that big?

I bet it started with "Hey y'all watch this..."

Stupid.
Anyone who can't fly and land a plane from the pilot station should NOT be flying a twin engine plane - for exactly this reason! Looks like the (plane's) right engine quit on approach causing a bunch of yaw.

What happened here is that one of the engines died on the B-25. I'm not sure if I completely remember what happened, but I believe the pilot was pulled back by the spotter as he was making his approach. The pilot then got distracted and lost control of the plane as he was trying to flare. The spotter was very fortunate, as he almost died that day. There is a long thread some place that discusses this video at considerable length. You can watch it on YouTube:

I forgot to mention: It is not a very good idea to stand out in the middle of the runway. I will correct myself now: BOTH are very fortunate. Neither should have escaped injury, but by the grace of God that huge, heavy model missed them by what appeared to be inches. What's more important? A nice large-scale plane that probably took a couple years to build, or someone's life?

Yep, standing out on the active runway with a big twin flying is not a good idea, and flying it right towards yourself is a Darwin Award recipient looking for a place to happen, not to mention the spotter staying out there with him. When we have guys at our club field walk out onto the runway for take-off and landing they get yelled at really quick. If you can't fly it from behind the pilots stand fence, you shouldn't be flying it.

I hope he had a really big trash bag with him that day.

But as the saying goes, "You can't fix Stupid!".
