Default First Radio for a Newbie (in Japan)?

My experience: about 10 hours with Slo V. Didn't have much difficulty picking it up except a few ugly landings. Problem is I really don't have space where I'm at and want to get the Vapor or Ember and probably the Eflite MCX helicopter for indoor/backyard flying. I'm torn between getting a RTF with the radio that appears to work with these models OR buying a separate Spektrum radio and buying BNF models. I have a feeling I will want other planes later so I'm leaning toward a separate radio. Q's:

Does a more expensive radio, like DX6i, improve performance over the RTF radio? How?

What would be a good balance in a newbie radio?

Is there a prohibition on certain radios in Japan?

Thanks for any help!

Right, better radio is one of the things you should strive for. Of course there is the choices of manufactorer as well as the newer 2.4 equipment. Regarding 2.4 the main factor is no one can shoot you down, not possible for more than one person on same frequency at one time. Also range is somewhat improved and loss of signal rare,(especially with the JR system which uses 2 separete tiny RX's), (my choice and opinion). Also they, JR use a model match system which further prevents you from attempting to fly the wrong plane since each is bound to TX independetly. Digital servos improve performance as well although they do draw more current. Analogs can still be used though. I believe it would behoove you to do some research on this.
