I've been reading that you dont want to use a metal push rod for the throttle. I've been useing the cable with plastic tubing in my nitro planes. What do I need to use with the gasser? Thanks for the help.

I use the Sullivan composite 2-56 rod on my gasser. It's been there for 5 seasons and has always worked great

You can use ny-rod I guess, but alot of guys actually mount the servo in the engine compartment to avoid having to run a cable into the fuse. Its just recommended that you dont run a metal type throttle linkage into the fuse because it can carry electical interference from the engine back through the metal throttle linkage and screw with your reciever. So basically anything but a solid metal linkage is recommended.

A servo in the engine compartment can be as potentially dangerous as a wire rod. You are just trading copper for the steel.

If you do decide to chance a servo in the engine compartment, you had best twist the servo wires on their way back to the radio

You can use a metal rod for the throttle just use plastic ball joint ends. This will eliminate the "Connection" and isolate any rf from getting into the rx. If you plan to use a PCM or 2.4 rx, use a 72mhz rx first for testing. Doing this will help learn to isolate any glitch problems first. Then go PCM or 2.4.

The engine must have a resistor type spark plug or you will have trouble regardless of what you do

Absolutely! I forgot about that one. Also some ignitions have a braided shield that must grounded to the plug base with a clamp.
