Engine Question for my Pulse 60
As you all know I got the pulse 60 and put my .91 Saito 4 Stroke in her, after looking at some 2 strokes to get a bit more speed out of her, now if it where your plane would you keep the .91 4 strk or go with a Evolution .61 NX? I noticed the engine is only 150$ which is a good price from Horizon. What performance difference would I notice switching to the 2 stroke over the 4 stroke, I know I would get more speed but less torque, so I wanted to know what you fellas would do if you had too choose? Or should I go with a larger 2 stroke as it can take up to a .75.....? Thank you all.

RE: Engine Question for my Pulse 60
Personally, I'd stay with the Saito. If you want to get more speed then it's as easy as changing your prop to a smaller dia. and higher pitch. Stay in the recomended prop range so that you don't over-rev the engine.

Agreed...you probably wouldn't notice much, if any speed or perf. increase.
What prop and fuel are you using now?
I would suggest to try an APC 13x8 if you're not using one already...maybe a higher nitro fuel...Saitos respond well to higher nitro fuel, say YS/Saito 20/20 or a 30% "Heli" fuel.

RE: Engine Question for my Pulse 60
Just A question for you, why would you want/need more speed out of this plane? I have been flying my students Pulse sense last week, he installed A .55AX in it. We thought it was going to A tad under powered but it does everything the plane was designed for with power to spare. A big surprise to me, I love the combanation. A .91 FS would maybe be even better? Just wondering because the plane was never designed to be A speeder. Just changing the prop like everyone mentioned will make it go slower or faster.

The Saito 91 four stroke is a lot more friendly than the Evolution 100.
The Saito 91 four stroke is a lot more friendly than the Evolution 100.
In addition the .61 2C NX produces slightly less power than the Saito .91 4C, so the .61 is not a big step up.
The Evolution 1.00NX is, but UGH what touchy engines...
The Saito by comparison is so setup friendly.
