Super Glue in leu of Thread Lock???!
Hey guys, In a pinch can I use super glue or silicone glue on botl threads to help lock them in?
I'm using it for the engine mount on a trainer plane. It is a metal bolt, that goes through the wood (firewall) and into a metal nut that is attached to the fuselage
thanks!
Tim

The instructions on my World Models LA Racer (sport plane) which is my first gas plane say to use threadlock or CA so I would think you are fine.

Before Loc-tite it was common to use fingenail polish on the threads just before screwing in. I never had any trouble removing a bolt later.

I have tried thread lock, tightbond, , blue in color when applied, and the next day it's still wet! I won't use it again, waste of money.
All I do is use gap filling CA, just a drop, done deal. Hit it with accelerater, good to go.
