Webstore specials
I was wondering, is it likely that hobbyzone or tower hobbies, etc would run an AFTER christmas special?
Im new to this hobby, really unsure what to expect.

Tower hobbies is always running some sort of special. I just got en e-mail this morning with deals on radios and a couple ARF's. Sign up for their super save club and you'll get all sorts of coupons by both regular mail and e-mail.

Tower Hobbies runs adds year round. If you get into the Super Saver Club, You usually get double the discounts through email coupons than the mailers. Also you get free shipping on all orders over $150.
The Super Saver club usually pays for itself within 2 or 3 orders.

I have no need for a .52 4-stroke at the moment but that's 1/2 off with free shipping. too good to pass up. You never know when it could come in handy.

I picked one up, too. I'm a sucker for good deals. I'll stick it on one of the planes I ordered from Cox. They've got a 40-size trainer for $35, and a Giles 202 for $49. It's hard not to buy at those prices. What's the worst that could happen, right?
Now if only someone would sell me a Spektrum 6200 receiver for half-off...

Usually, everybody starts the discounting right after Christmas and into January, early February. Last year, Tower had some great deals on O.S. engines. I hope they do it again.

Wow what a deal! I've been wanting to try a four stroke. So I ordered one also; going on an SE-5A that is being repaired after a mishap with an electrical highline. Perfect engine for this plane, as a matter of fact it is the engine shown in the instrucations.
Thanks for the information. At that price I think they're going to run out of damaged boxes before the end of the sale.
Thanks again,
Oscar

MikeL,
Thanks for the heads up on the Giles, I ordered one too, and am in the process of ordering a 52 for it. Not a bad price/combo.

I couldn't pass up the $75 .52 RFS. I already have one for which I'm thinking about finding a project. At half off with free shipping, I figure it won't hurt to have another one laying around.
Those Cox ARFs sound like a great buy as well. One of the guys I fly with has that Cox Giles 202 .40 ARF and it's a nice looking, nice flying plane.

Ed,
Glad to hear about the Giles, I look forward to flying it, like Mike said, what's the worst that could happen?
Nitroplanes also has some great deals. I see an Ultimate Bipe 40 on heir site at about 75% off their MSRP 89$ from 379$. It looks like a nice plane to put a .52 into.
Hard to pass up these sales.

All,
Whoever put an order through yesterday, did you get a confirmation email? I printed the page for my records and have an order number and it lists my correct email, but I have heard nothing from HobbyPeople about the .52.
Thanks,
Curtis

I didn't receive a confirmation e-mail, but got an e-mail saying that the order was sent to the warehouse for "fulfillment." Then later, two e-mails when they said it was shipped - one from them and one from FedEx. I ordered mine early in the morning yesterday FWIW.

Yeah,
I ordered yesterday at 10:30 CST, but I received no emails. I wonder if I should call, or just wait until Monday to let them have a bit of time. I couldn't find a link on their site to track my order, it seems a bit more manual.
Anyone else?
Thanks,
Curtis

Red Rocket Hobby Shop has a [link=http://www.redrockethobbies.com/category_s/24.htm?Click=27534]Price Matching Policy[/link].
There selection is not as big as Tower, but I always order from them when they have what I want. Even though it's an online merchant, it kinda has that local hobby shop feel to it. Great service and the owner is always willing to answer your questions. It's worth checking out. It's a great shop.

I picked up the 1.80 RFS and the Spear EDF because of that mass e-mailing.
