RE: lucky star 40 fuel tank
dd,
Pictures help a lot here but here are some tips.
The plug of the tank should be at the same height asthe carb throttle lever.
Use a different color tubing for exhaust or mark it with something that will stay visable such as a wire tie.
Make small bends at a time around a stick or screw drive handle to prevent kinking the brass tubing.
MAKE SURE THE ENDS OF THE BRASS TUBING HAVE BEEN FILED VERY SMOOTH. Cut tubing leaks and will drive you crazy when you try to run the engine. (I like the soldered on barbs) Craftsmanship hear is a MUST!!
The tank should NOT have any direct contact to the fuselage. Set it in foam on ALL sides to keep the engine vibration from FOAMING the fuel.
The clunk should be as far back as it will go BUT MOVE FREELY IN ALL DIRECTIONS.
Tighten the screw in the plug around the tubing outlet AS TIGHT AS POSSIBLE.
No junk, dust crap, or particles in the tank or tubing. use a small peice of brass tubing to temporarily join the gas and exhaust lines to prevent dust getting in while you work.
