Can you say plunge in RC?
I went to the local hobby shop (Big Boys Toys in Albuquerque) where I bought my first batch of RC gear. I've never flown before but have visited the local field on occassion and talked with the folks there. My younger brother also flew several years ago and is just now getting back into it. I'll be going to my first RC club meeting on Thursday. Also submitted my $58 for an AMA membership.
I bought me a SIG LT-40 ARF and a Thunder Tiger Pro-46 engine to go with it. The radio I got is the Futaba 6EXA. Of course I had to get a flight box and all of the other goodies one has to have to get started in this stuff.
I went back later today and bought the RealFlight G2 Lite simulator after reading the many reviews here on this site. I figure it's worth the cost to learn the basics and maybe spare me a real life crash somewhere down the road.
Anyway, watch your backs 'cause this newbie will soon be taking to the air!

yep, don't let the wife catch you ordering parts on the computer. I just got busted ordering heli parts. Sometimes they just don't understand what goes up sometimes comes down in a hurry. Good Luck
