Good Deal on a .46 Engine

I'm not currently in the market, but I just saw this at Hobby People:

$47.99 for a Magnum XLS-46 with free shipping. I just recently missed a really good sale they had on a four stroke.
I hope somebody can use one.

Hobby People has Airtronics 94012Z servos on sale for $6.99 each as well. I ordered a twelve pack.
I already have a Magnum XLS .46A new in the box at home, and I grabbed one of the .52 RFS engines a couple of weeks ago when they were half price. The Magnum XLS .46A is a terrific and powerful sport engine, and it's an absolute steal at $47.99

That is a pretty amazing deal. If I hadn't blown my hobby budget on the last sale...
Well, a did spend a little more on this sale, too. They have HS-55s for $10.

Is me or is Hobby People's website funky when it comes to online purchasing?

Definitely different. Not as slick as Tower. But a well written email to Hobby People's Customer Service revealed my order for two was shipped. Credit Card site shows payment so all is well. Looking forward to test running one of these. Looks like they provide a pretty fair manual that can be downloaded. I like how I can decide if I want the needle up by the carburetor or hanging off the back crankcase cover. I'm old school and prefer the needle at the carburetor. But it's neat how they designed it so that you can have it the way you like.

I hadn't recieved an email confirming my order or the tracking number, but I did print the reciept. I gave them a call and they gave me the tracking number and said they were having issues with their auto email software. I got the engine in 4 days, it seems to be a nicely built one too! A ton of pinch on this baby!

Yeah the tracking number they gave me show they're two days away. It seems like Hobby Peoples does the best they can but could use some real good IT help. I've bought glow plugs from them before and didn't have any problems. Weird how spoiled I've gotten using Towers website. I am looking forward to getting one on a test stand.

Hobby People are not the only ones with IT problems. Others are worse.
Horizon's IT situation has a terrrible "key Word" problem. Their entire presentation flow process needs to be rethought. It is difficult to find anything unless you know the one magic word. Often you need to search back into Horizon with Google to ever find anything.

Well they arrived on time as promised by Hobby People. Right out of the shipping carton I was amazed at how small the boxes they were in. No space is wasted and its difficult to get it back into box they came in. Had to check the other to see how they did it. But they look good and complete. So far I'm thinking, great deal. Pretty informative instruction manual with decals! Maybe not as cosmetically attractive as other engines I've had, but that in no way detracts from this engine. Tomorrow I'll get one on my test stand. This is going to be fun. [sm=49_49.gif]

I have one that is about 6-7 years old and is still running fine.
I have another I just bought from the LHS for $69.99. Still have to break it in.
Because of this post, I just bought anther from Hobby People. Couldn't resist the price. Gosh, now I have to build another plane. Darn...
