Default Maiden day!!!

71 degrees and nice, the wind did kick up just before I took this one up. It's a 30% Extra 260 with a G-62. What can I say, it was a really good maiden, just needed a bunch of up elevator trim?? My Bad!! I must have had my meter off center or something when I set up my controls but other then that it's a good plane. I just need to work on a few little things and this will be my new IMAC flyer, I may even compete this year as well as this plane fly's. I do have to work a little on the low end but it wasn't too bad for a bench tune.
Joe, you need one of these!!!!

Thanks guys, the plane is an older one and it was a gift from Bobzilla and I got the engine in a trade. I can't tell you how thrilled I am with it!! Something nice and I didn't have to spend a year building!! The plane was in really good shape too with only minor work needed.

You're [Hoover?]dam right I do! Who makes that thing? I'm actually all out of space. Just came across a fully loaded Focus II for an unreasonably good deal and had to pass it by[&o]

71 degrees? THAT'S 81 DEGREES WARMER THAN IT IS HERE!!! Maybe you should save me one of those planes while I try to make my way where the climate better suits my clothes...and my planes!

Geeze, it's supposed to get up to 30 here on Monday - I just may wear shorts to work! That's 60 degrees warmer than it was two days ago!

Great looking airplane! But who's the old guy?

Nice aircraft! Just wondering, where is the runway? You don't have to worry about trees either DG

What desolate looking country. Do people actually live there? How do you know where to land? Great plane. Little cool here today don't care to fly when less then 60 degrees. Aren't we lucky. I spent 50 years flying in cold climate, no more though. Love it here in sunny FL. Plan on being here another 20 years, only 83 now so should make it HAA

Maiden? In January?? I have some words for you, but I'd probably get kicked off the forum if I said them.

Oh yeah, nice airplane too.

Looks like you should change your handle from GreyBeard to BigBird.

Nice looking Bird. Makes me want to get my 330L out of the closet and start building.

Most of us at the lake bed get this old guy away from his shopping cart and have him hold our planes for photos, we don't trust him with our cameras. Caster, I have told you a number of times to quit talking about it and just pull that kit from under the bed and start building. To make room for this plane I had to give a friend a 90 inch Decathlon but like a bad penny it keeps showing up again for work or repairs? It's here now. THE STORY of the Extra!! [8D] I think I am the forth owner of this plane. There were two of them scratch built for tower to test before they decided to have the Patty Wagstaff Extra ARF built in china, they should have done this one!! Maybe one of the best built planes I have ever seen with some great one off items, maybe that's why they chose to go there?? This one is a class job! One of them was destroyed in a crash so this is the only other one like it. I think it finally found the right home!
As to finding the runway?? Well, things can happen!![&:] Two weeks ago one of my students found this same tree!!

I hope the cone that the plane is sitting on is not your windsock.

Right now I don't have the space for the 330L. Also I have several builds qued up before I get to that one.
First one I need to finish up the SuperSportster. Scratch build an UltraSport. Finish a scratch build Airmeister Biplane. Finish up a Sportster Bipe 40. Build an extra 300S .60 kit.

I had a bad start last year so I took the year off. While the 330L is in the boxes I don't have to worry about destroying it.
