My first plane

I dunno personally, but I've got a question for you... where do you live?
There are R/C clubs all over the place in the US and they're really helpful at letting you see different planes and how they act, and best of all they usually provide free flying lessons. Any chance we could help you find a local flying group?

Welcome to the hobby!!!
Biggest recommendation I have to a newbie is to find a club and get flying lessons as Al Stein said. Your plane will last longer that way and you'll avoid a lot of mistakes and re-inventing the wheel so as to speak. Also you'll probably develop some good friendships - aircraft modelers are generally nice people who'll talk your ear off about airplanes. Have fun.
