I have heard somewhat good things on magnum engines, I have all OS engines now and saitos for my 4 strokes but are they as reliable and produce the power of an OS of equal size? Ive been seeing a lot of posts on magnums and thought I would ask for opinions. How is the tuning, if its like the super tigres Ill pass on that. But if there like OS or similar I may try one in the future. Thanks...Jason

I own an ASP 1.20 4 stroke (a rebadged Magnum, made on the same assembly line in China) and it's given me eight months trouble free service, starts very easily, and I believe has comparable power to an equivalent OS engine. I would have no problem buying another Magnum or ASP.

I have many Mags, they all have been good engines. I have from the sweet running GP .10, .15, .25, (3) .46, .61 and my first .91 4S. All have been great. I would buy another in a heart beat.

I picked up a couple of XLS 46's from Hobby People last February for $47 a piece. Although I haven't flown one yet, on the test stand they both seem great. $47 a piece free shipping, I can't believe that, sometimes you get lucky.

I've been happy with my Magnum two cycle and four cycle engines. I also have a couple of Super Tigre 2-strokes that have been terrific.
If you don't want to wait for Hobby People's next sale, I've also been very happy with JBA 2-strokes available from http://www.bj-model-engines.com/SKJBA.html or from http://www.kangkeusa.com
By most accounts, the JBA .39 and the SK .50 2-strokes are both bargains at $59.99
The Aviastar .46 2-strokes available at http://www.sigmfg.com for $49.99 have a good reputation as strong and reliable engines once you get any carburetor problems sorted out. Any Sig dealer should be able to order an Aviastar engine for you.
Good luck and good shopping.

And I have a bridge to sell...
Tower's been telling me that my GMS engine will be in "next month" every month.
This is going on TWO YEARS!
Try HobbyPeople instead, at least they have them. I picked one up recently from them.

If you're looking for a .70-size four stroke in particular and you don't want to wait for the Magnum XL .70 RFS, you can pick up the Thunder Tiger F-75s at http://www.thundertiger4u.com for $169.99 with free shipping. By all reports, this is a terrific engine as well.

My old magnum 46 2stroke is more powerfull then some 46 os engines.
