IMHO having a TX with the option of dual rates and not using them is like buying a car with A/C and not using it.
No, it's more like having a car with a radio and not programming in the "RAP" stations

I fully agree, why are people buying high end radios and treating them like 4 channels, not using the rates, expo or mixing. Drive a steak in my hart before you ask me to use a Y harness just to keep it simple. Buy a good radio and learn to use it.

Set them up and if the plane is too twitchy on that first flight switch to low rates and get more comfortable.

HOWEVER I do agree with the people who say that if you are careless enough to fly with the wrong rate selected then it can be a problem. Thats why you do a preflight check.

It was meant to be colorful for easy identification in freefall formations. OK, I've found another pic of me tuning one of my model engines. I'm the one in dark shorts.

That's one of those 97.999% scale planes. And, I can see that we have a clear view of your face. We could recognize that face anywhere.
