Do you think that I could get this plane as a beginner plane, because I can allready fly the flight sim pretty well without crashing?

Normally the answer to using a low wing sport plane as your first trainer would be no. If you are referring to the Parkzone T-28 though, you might be able to pull it off if you fly on low rates and have help from an instructor or experienced flyer. It is a pretty forgiving and surprisingly durable airplane.

If you are referring to some other T-28 such as the glow ARf from BH Models then no way.

I think the ParkZone T-28 is a suitable trainer if:

1. You've practiced on a SIM (which you have)
2. If you take your time and stay off high rate (as already mentioned)
3. If at all possible, get someone to verbally help you during your first few flights.

A friend of mine started out with the T-28. I convinced him to resist the urge to do loops and rolls on his first 3-5 flights. He's successfully completed about 10 flights now and the aircraft is still very much in one piece. Know your limits and realize you won't be as capable with the real aircraft as you are with a flight and you'll be fine.

I've had to rebuild 3 of these planes that were crashed on the first flight by friends who thought they could handle it. They were all experienced with the hobbyzone Super Cub, but failed to check a few important items before trying to fly it. Two of them did not have their elevator trim set properly, one of them did not check out the radio system and crashed due to a defective reciever. If you decide to start with this plane, make sure you have some help and let an experienced pilot maiden it and trim it out for you. I own three of these and have put together and maidened about 8 of them with no problems. My point being there are some things to check and look out for that an experienced pilot will be more likely to catch. Hope it works for you, happy flyin!

it possible, but do yourself a favor and pick up at least one spare motor mount when you buy the plane and a bottle of foamsafe CA. the trojan is a ralitively easy plane to fly but until you log a few flights and start to get a feel for it, mistakes can happen and the motor mounts break pretty easy if you nose it in. I agree with every thing else said above. good luck!!!

I have that plane and love it.
However, it responds very quickly to inputs.
Not something for a beginner.
Go the normal route and save this for your third plane.

I used to have that plane, I used it as my second plane while I was building a Sig 4*40 kit. It ended up having a bad run-in with a tree, but that is a long story.

I think it is pretty feasible to use this as a first plane, as long as you can get someone to help you out with it and possibly buddy-box it a few times. Make sure the rates are low and it turns into a fairly docile plane. And the best part is it is very easy to repair. I simply used hot glue for most of my repairs. I broke wing mounts, cowls, broke fuselage in half, broke the tail off, broke the wing in half, etc... and all it took was about 20 minutes of hot gluing to repair any one of those breaks. Then I had to wait for my batteries to charge and go fly again. I basically treated this plane as a bang around plane that I could try new stuff with, thus causing all the repairs.

After a while, I got to the point that I could do a knife edge the whole length of the field. I miss that plane, it was a really fun one.

Rustler, just to let you know, the EDF Hornet is my second aircraft, the Super Cub being my first. If you take your time, the Trojan is fine...

I believe you could fly the t-28 as your first plane. My first plane was the Super Cub and i became bored with it . So I got the T-28 Parkzone. THe plane is not much harder to fly unless you dont have the throttle turned down. I believe as long as you do the simulator before flight you will be fine. As you do the simulator dont just have fun and be careless. THes is nto the wasy you will feel during your real flight. YOur willl be nervous i was. Treat the sumulator as if this is your real plane and you must get it down safetly. Then when it comes to you real flight make sure to get the plane high to allow for some mistakes. STAY CALM!! and HAVE FUN!!</p>
