Default Connecting Elevator Halves

I was given a used Kyosho plane with a split elevator.
They were connected with a "U" shaped piece of music wire.
On each half there was a plastic piece bolted on like a control horn.
On this horn was a round horizontal shaft the music wire fit into snugly.
I need to replace these plastic pieces.
I am having trouble searching for them since I don't know what they are called.

I apologize if I am not describing them well.
I also can't get pictures as they were badly broken.

I hope someone here can help.
Thanks,
KW_Counter

Hi KWC,

Than sounds like a piece that you'll only get with the kit, doubt that you'll be able to get a new spare part for that alone.Maybe ask around at your club if anyone knows a fellow member there or elsewhere whether they have the same plane or similar that's been crashed(usually the tail survuives) and you could most probably re-use that piese or else not,you might have to remake the whole thing the old way it was always done in the built up kits.
If you need any further assistance, let me know.

Good luck

Is the kyosho plane elevator
"plastic / foam" or wood?

See if you can find a local dealer that carries the Kyosho planes, and ask if they carry any replacement parts. You may have to order the hole elevator, or find just the connectors that you are looking for.

If what you describe as split elevators means one on each side of the fuselage (yeah, what else would it be.. ) then why don't you just control them individually without the torque arm in place?

All you have to do is remove the elevators, even if they are on the plane, just cut off the hinges (most likely CA hinges) then remove the torque arm. Re-hinge it using CA hinges, "mind the gap", as they say in London as you enter the tube trains.. then run separate rods from the elevator servo, which is easy enough to do.

Just join the linkage rods near the servo to go from two to one (see my drawing) then run it that way. You can use the wheel collars as shown, with a set screw, or if you are any good at soldering, wrap it tightly where the two rods join with thin copper single stranded wire then solder it (about an inch long would be fine). Any method woujld work that is secure. No, not epoxy or JB Weld.
