Default Trickle Charger

Many years ago I had a trickle charger that I could trickle several RX's and TX's at the same time. I always kept them on trickle so I could grab any plane and transmitter and go fly. Since I have gotten back into RC I can not find a unit that will do more than one unit at a time. I would appreciate any advise on where I could purchase a unit.

Thanks

My Futaba radio came with a wall charger that has two charging cords. One for the transmitter and the other for the receiver battery. If the weather looks promising for the following morning, I plug the batteries in before I go to bed, and both batteries are good to go for my morning flying. Daren

Gary,

I have my charges on simple lamp timers with them set up to run one hour a day. When I return from flying, I rotate the knobs to give each battery an appropriate charge; sometimes up to 24 hours. After the first day, the chargers go on for an hour a day, keeping the batteries topped off, so they are always ready to go.

About a year ago I found a small unit that required cutting the both wires from the charger that came with the radio and wiring in a small unit the I could push a charge button or a trickle button and it worked but with one radio controlling several models I want the capacity to trickle several flight packs.

A trickle charge is not as good as the full current charge for one hour per day on NiCads. Cheap light timer for $5 does the trick.

Sorry but I'm sure I will get the name a little wrong. The Lil Trickler?? You plug your wall warts into it and it trickle charges them. If so I still see them advertised once in a while. I also have the Ace Digapluse Digapace???It's out in the shop and I can't remember if it's a pace or pulse. Anyway, it charges 6 batteries of different sizes then goes into trickle mode. Still sold through Horizon. Problem with it is the old dog only goes up to 1500mah and most people are using much bigger batteries today. Take a look at Horizons web site, they have several items you may like.

Not used much??? The field where I was flying at this weekend there were two gassers to every one glow plane, guess I could say glow fuel isn't used much these days. Things are changing in the hobby but not everyone has run out and bought 2.4 radios or gone over to lipo or flying electrics.

Here's another option http://www.tmenet.com/products.htm#ata

I've been using their Auto Trickle Adapter for years and it works great. The best thing is that you can plug power strips into it and have up to 30 wall warts all on trickle at the same time.

Using a 1 hour a day wall timer is the preferred method with your wal wart. Cheap and works better then a trickle charger.

I already have two of the add a trickle that i found in a close out box at a hobby shop that I bought for $10.00 each. They appear to be working well. I just wanted to do several rx packs at the same time.

Daren71,

See the above quote. That is a damn funny postscript notation...; one of the funniest that I have ever seen...!!!

Dan, THANK YOU BIG TIME for posting that link. Some years ago, they went out of business or were into some other thing. My ATA failed several years ago, but I have survived with one of their other models. Guess I never thought of looking for a website again. You should get a commission. I just ordered two.
