Default Minnesota Fun Fly?

Two years ago we had a great fun fly at my club's field in Willmar, MN. We wanted to make it a "Roaming" annual event, but plans fell through last year. Anyone in the Twin Cities want to host it this year?

I'm thinking sometime in June just to be sure all the snow is gone

Hey Mike,
I think that is a great idea. Since I am a new member to TCRC, I will let someone else volunteer to set this up. I know Grayle and another friend from his club were interested in driving to check out another fun fly.

BTW, were you planning on coming to the Float Fly on the 9th of May? Hopefully the weather will improve by then.

I was wondering when that float fly was. I will try to make it for sure.

Same place?

I'm not going to make it to the Float fly. It's going to be too windy to travel that far. Besides, I've got a new review on the bench that's keeping me busy. []

I will try to talk to the others at the float fly about having a get together. Would you be opposed to your field? otherwise I am sure that I can get something arranged at TCRC, but I would also like to hear from other clubs around.

We can certainly do it at my field, but it's a 2-hour drive for people in the cities (2 hours from the airport, so about 1 1/2 from Wayzata)

I just thought it would be easier for most people if it were more centrally located.

Hey Minn

I was raised a Yooper and the only month I have never seen it snow was July. Guess things are better in that Minnesota hey? Grandma told me a story of Granddad having to go to town to get the 4th of July beer in the sleigh! [:@] Cold beer that year you betcha!!!

Southern Saint,
You were raised a yuuper? You live in Lower, AL now? I would love to hear the accent you have acquired now.

Minn,
As you guessed a few months ago, it sounds like tomorrow is going to be a pretty cruddy day to fly. We'll have to arrange for an unofficial makeup day sometime. I have a canoe and a trolling motor that we can use as a retrieval boat. Also, I am up for coming out to wilmar, as well as a few of my friends too. Maybe we can make a combo, Fun/Float fly out your way?

Minn,
You just name the date then and we will put something together.
Curtis
P.S. Which Green Lake? And is it seasonally green, or year-round?

Going from 'you betcha hey?' to 'reckon' and 'yonder' without a translator has been quite the challenge. When I visit the Great White North everyone asks "Where you from? You talk funny! You talk some more hey!"

Oh ya, what is a grit?

A grit is a catalyst for the butter and sugar you eat, usually at breakfast time in the south

Mike, you missed a "cool" time, it was breezy and very cool, but a good time still.

I just started asking the big wigs at our club, Should we try for mid June at the field in Jordan? I know that Vmsguy fro Wisconsin is interested also, we might be able to drag a few other people out of the wood work also.

Works for me too....

BTW.. I have a surprise for you Mike.. I'll have a second plane for you to fly/re-maiden... That is if you're game...

And no, I'm not saying what it is, but I'll give you a hint. I bought it at this spring's TCRC auction.

I just looked at our club calendar, and it looks like there is an open house at our club on June 20th, so I would like to formally invite anyone and everyone out to our club at Jordan on June 20th for a fun fly, we will try to get Mike out there to maiden a plane for Vmsguy, maybe have Ilikebipes bring a bipe or 2 out and a few other things. Maybe we can invite ourselves up to Mike's sisters place for a float fly in July or August .
