Hello,
Can someone tell me what the difference is from the AM style radio and an FM style radio. Is it just distance??
Also if you were starting out again would you purchase the cheaper 4 channel AM or would you go right the say a 6 channel FM. Keep in mind that you have to buy all this stuff like plane radio equiptment and all the goods to get started.
Thanks Dan

AM/FM is the same as AM/FM comercial radio stations, basicaly FM has less interferance in line of site situations ie flying rc planes, if money is a problem go for something like the Hitec laser4, flash4 or laser6

In our application, AM or FM, it doesn't really matter.
However, the vast majority of equipment being made is FM (partially due to misconceptions like limited distance
), so if you pruchase am you won't get much of anything at resale, and you might have trouble finding compatible receivers down the road. Much more available in FM.
