What tach are you guys using? Any big differences between the various brands?

I have the hanger 9 digital mini tach. Works perfect, nice price. Now, if I can just decide on an loaded voltmeter, I'll be set.

I have a tach, and I even use it once in a while.

I'm curious, why do you feel you need a tach?

Depending on your application, any of the low-cost digital units will work quite well. I have a 10+yr old Tower tach myself.

Shoulda bought the Hangar 9 DVT, decision made!

I think Hobbico do a voltmeter in which the load can be swtiched on or off.

Lots of stuff on here about tachs, some people having problem with the glow bees... my H9 DVT is OK and its a digital voltmeter too.

It really depends on how much and where you are going to use it. If you think you are going to use it a lot and maybe in less than ideal lighting conditions then it might be an idea to splash out the extra on a TNC tach.
