who has it? who has heard about it? who can tell me what its like? does it keep bind etc...? I have found some spektrum equipment to lose bind for some reason unexplained... I like the DX7SE also... but I really like this remote... any detail or feedback would be appreciated...

The Aurora is not expected to hit the US shelves for another week or so, I don't know about your neck of the woods. It looks very intersting, I like the telemetry portion and I guess that they will be offering a couple of coupons for extra receivers for free or cheap.

apparently at moment the only tele feature that works is receiver battery level... at end of the year rpm, fuel tank level etc... will be available...

The Aurora 9 looks fantastic, Hitec has done some really cool things with the radio system's programming and feature set. Unfortunately, no one except Hitec's test pilots have had their hands on one yet. You're either going to need to order one as a leap of faith, or wait a few months until user reports come rolling in.

If you look at the horizon page, it says it is out of stock and expected mid September, 2009. This means that they havent even gotten any yet, not that they are sold out already.

I'd bet money that Hitec has very, very thoroughly tested their new 2.4Ghz systems across the board. I'll bet that the Aurora launch will go very smoothly and that we'll likely hear nothing but rave reviews of the new radio system for some time.

If I didn't already own a pair of Airtronics RDS8000 transmitters and eight of the 92824 receivers, I'd be very seriously considering pre-ordering the Aurora 9 right now.

I want one most definitely... the tele system?... will it be included? or be add ons?

do one of you guys know its frame rate? what does the frame rate mean to me and also resolution?

I've a bunch of the Spektrums.

The only time they seem to loose bind is when battery voltage is too low at startup. They seem to be happiest at over 5v.

Then the receiver reacts as if it has lost the bind.... however I've resorted to using nothing but 6V packs with the Spektrum TX's and this has eliminated what I originally thought was a binding problem.

I am still going with the Aurora because of the tele features coming later... its been integrated into remote the add-ons need to be developed looks like cause its only dew Decemberish... still I would like to know the frame rate of the aurora? and also what is the frame rate and resolution? what does it mean to me?

Frame rate is very similar to baud rate in Serial terms or packet rate in Ethernet terms. It is the speed at which a group of information can be transmitted. I believe Spektrum/JR advertises the fastest at 11ms. You would see a faster response to your input command in theory. depending on what the receiver needs to do with the information and if it is legible, then this is the update rate of the system. You would mostly notice a high frame rate if you are flying 3D or Profile where little inputs add up quickly. FWIW, I believe all of the mfg's have frame rates in the 10-20 ms range, so it may not make much of a difference.

The resolution of the radio basically will tell you how sensitive it is. Servos can only travel a given amount, (I think it's about 270°, but don't quote me). The resolution of a radio is basically how many points that travel range is divided in to. For instance, a radio with resolution of 1024 will divide that travel into 1024 points. The high the resolution the more points it divides into, giving more accurate servo positioning. Your servos will also be more sensitive to minor stick adjustments with a higher resolution.

Boiled down, the higher the resolution the better the radio is going to be.

I asked about the frame rate and he did not know the exact number (I which he did) but he said it was fast and in line with the other companies, I do belive that the resolution is over 2000.
