What's wrong with running it in the model?

If it was a 2 row, 18 cylinder radial, then ya you betcha...run it on a stand after a rebuild.
C'mon CP, I have more engines than I have planes. So before I buy another plane, I want to verify the crusty castor blocked engine will run
