Default Accu-Cycle Elite Problems

Well I got the Accu-Cycle! I really like it. Well I seem to be having trouble with it off the bat. I am trying to do a cycle/dsch/charge and I am failing. Once I sit up my battery basically only doing the Cell and Cap. and letting the Accu do the rest it is only taking about 5 min to do. I know this isnt right at all. It only attemps a Discharge then says it done with a Cap. of 36 ma. I am trying to use the accu-cycle on my Futaba NR4J 4-Cell 4.8V 600mAh NiCd.
Any Ideas?

I have been using the standard for about four years now, but I have no experience on the Elite.

I would try to do a discharge first. See what the condition of the battery is. Make sure the switches are right fot that battey pack. 4 cell, charge of 125mah or so, and discharge of 500ma. Once the battery is discharged, do the charge then cap.

Two things that I can think of. First the Elite is smarter than my old Accu-cycle. It may determine that the battery is capped and isn't realy discharging it. The other is that your battery is bad. I've got some AA cels for my camera and when the set shows discharged to the camera, some cells will charge full in under two minutes. The problem is they discharge full after 15 seconds in the camera. No capacity at all, so they charge to what they can hold then shut down.

Maybe one of the guys who own an Elite can provide a better suggestion.

I assume you are just pressing cycle button? (not charge or discharge?) To get there, I thought you have to cycle through all the settings but maybe not. Have you tried to just discharge? and then charge? (i.e. not cycle). For cycle, it will first discharge, then charge.

Do you have the Elite programmed for the battery and the number of times you want the battery cycled? Once you have the Elite programmed for your 600mah 4.8 Nicd press the cycle button. If your using the default settings the cycling will take a good number of hours. I usually cycle overnight or when I am not expecting to use the airplane.
