Now all I need to do is get insured and I'm set to go. Passed my flight test (Draftman is my instructor) and did pretty good. I wrecked Draft's trainer though (oops), good thing these are SPADs! I'm already eyeballing coroplast signs. Gonna go to Tulare next week and watch the races!

Like I said; last time I really had to resist pushing that Spadet to it's limits, guess I found them today. Guess if I start feeling guilty I could just build you a new one, but like you said: "it's a spad". Now I have $6 out of $20-ish towards my insurance, not bad for an hour's work, although it's still less than minimum wage

yeah, Im a nice guy, well, part of it was my fault. he had already passed. I was letting him fly a little too low and I couldnt pull up fast enough after letting go of the trainer switch. it really didnt do to much to it. it could be back in the air in ten minutes but that fuse has been beat up bad over the last year so Im gona replace it ho hum, 5 bucks and a couple of evenings. no biggie

Don't forget... warbird fly-in next weekend at the FRM field. I'll be out there with my P-47. Should be a blast. Best part is that it isn't 1000 degrees anymore.

Soloing is one of those things that you never forget, it's a pretty special feeling. Give yourself a big pat on the back from me!!!Great Job!!!! Now go wipe that silly grin off of your face!!!!

A solo flight is a great accomplishment and that wins you one genuine RCU ATTABOY (Suitable for framing, wrapping fish, or lining trashcans).

This is awesome. Thanks Ken. You were spot on though, as I was reading I started grinning and then I got to "now wipe that silly grin off your face" and I just busted out laughing. Can I request the certificate with my real name on it though? The wrok it would take to photoshop my real name on that certificate is pretty substantial.
