Our field is a work in progress compared to some of the nice fascilities seen here. Ours is on an old strech of highway they relocated because of the hydro-electric dams down river. The lay-out is a little different in terms of parking, camping and pit areas compared to the Google image.

Your welcome up here any time!

We are trying to get a Real Flight 4.5 file to look and work properly, without much success, soo far. When we do get the bugs figured out, we want to make it as a swap page airport.

I mentioned in my post about our field being owned by Cal Poly, but our club built it an maintained it.  This article was in our newspaper this morning.  The photo was taken in the pit area at our field.  The helicopter is the one I mentioned.  Seems shorter than I remembered, but sill an impressive size.

Just ran across this thread. Cool idea. We fly at a sod farm as well, in Camden, SC. I love flying in wide open spaces off of perfect Bermuda grass and never having to cut it

Bingo Field
It's in my backyard
Ok, on to the fancy stuff.
If you move the shooting bench to near the tree, you have a starter / assembly stand
You can sit or stand under the tree if it is kind of hot out.
Spectators have to stay behind the tree, it makes it about 25' for safety purposes.
If you get tired of flying, there is a 50, 100, 200 and 300 yard target range for pistol, rifle and clays.
If you promise to be careful, and replace your divots, you can chip and putt on the runway / taxiway.
At the end of the day, after cleanup, the grocery store is 3.5 miles, gas grill is nearly always available.
Full blown bathroom, and shower is available.

Here is Steve Henry Field, home of River City Radio Controllers. We are on the west side of E.P. 'Tom' Sawyer State Park in Louisville, KY. 500 foot asphalt runway with a helicopter area on the left. I think ours is one of the very few (if not only) state parks entirely within a city's limits.

Here's our club in Raynham, MA. The site abuts a recreational area so we occasionally get spectators!

Most of club is retired and we fly Mon, Thur & Sat mornings then most go to lunch together then fly for another hour or so before calling it quits.

Great group of guys.

Here is our club runway and the runway I use in my back yard. Have to use the water in the morning and the field in the evening or the sun is in your eyes.
