Hi..... There are several guys at our club that would like to purchase a Slowpoke 40 ARF and since Great Planes stopped production a few years ago I e-mailed them and said there was some interest in the Slowpokes. They replied that they would like to KNOW where this interest came from?
Any of you out there interested in a Slowpoke if they were to become available again???? I'm looking for some FUEL to get them in production again.
Thanks

There is a suggestion form at www.greatplanes.com. I'm sure if enough people fill it out they will take notice. Unfortunately people saying they are interested in something and actually buying it can be two different things sometimes.

Having campaigned Great Planes to bring back a kit I can tell you exactly what you are going to have to show them. Minnflyer and I worked for almost 3 years to have the Ultra Sport 40 and 60 brought back. The magic number that I was told they wanted to see was 300. We started a thread in the Kit Building forum and showed more than 300 legitimate people that wanted to buy the kit if it was re-released
Now, with that being said. I love the SlowPoke. It's one of my favorite planes to fly. I have a Slowpoke 40 that has over 600 flights on it, and it's still going strong. But would I buy a Slowpoke ARF. Never in a million years. Mine is kit built, and any more that I do will also be kit built as well. The Slowpoke 40 kit will be back in stock late November (according to Tower's website). http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...LXRB44&P=7 If you want a Slowpoke I would recommend bulding one from the kit. It's not a hard plane to build, and you'll probably have a better plane than the ARF is.

RCKen, I hope that kit is better than the Ultimate 40 bipe. That kit (stinks) wood is all over the place in density. Some so hard you have to drive a nail in it to pin it down. Some so soft you have to careful you don't pick it up by the end or it will break in-two. I am not against GP, just the quality of this kit. maybe the other ones are better. There I feel better having vented my frustrations with this build. Was going to put a 15 gasser in it, but don't think so now. probably won't finish it.

Wouldn't ya know, just my luck. Oh well, Again not bashing GP. I have had other planes from them and they have been OK.
This is from another RCU'er
goirish ,I can relate to the wood in the GP Ultimate , it was the worst kit I have ever built as far as wood quality . I ended up cutting most the parts by hand . The rest of the GP kits have been really nice, must have been a bad run . Contact GP to see if they well replace the wood for you.
